Trips are organised by the Kāpiti CoastWEA committee for members and their friends, usually monthly between March andSeptember. Trips will visit places of interest or events somewhere around theWellington, Kāpiti Coast and Horowhenua regions. Normally this will involveusing public transport and, for those eligible, Gold Cards. Occasionallyprivate vehicles will be used. Registration prior to the trip is required.Trips are free except when events or tours involve an entrance or participantfee. If required, this will be advertised in advance (eg the 2025 visit to theWorld Press Photography Exhibition). Participants are responsible forthemselves during the trips, which will be advertised in our weekly newslettersand on our website/Facebook pages. The first trip is confirmed for 18th March.

Guides Local Ōtaki residents
Date Wednesday 18th March 9.30-3.30pm
During this day trip to Ōtaki, we will hear from locals and learn more about the rich history of settlement in Ōtaki. We will visit the Otaki Heritage Museum 1843-1920 exhibition, the Rangiātea Anglican Church, the Pukekaraka St Marys Catholic Church, and the Ōtaki Health Camp Rotunda. Travel will be by private car. Car-pooling will be available for those who need it. Cost $25.
