Janet Secker
(President)

The guiding force behind the WEA is a committee of nine, with an ongoing commitment to continuing education in the community. The President is Janet Secker, and Secretary is Basil Pritchett. Both Janet and Basil are retired English teachers.  This branch of the WEA was started in 1978 and has progressed to one of the very active branches in the country.

The WEA (Workers' Educational Association), set up in 1915, is the longest established provider of adult education in New Zealand.

The Kapiti Coast WEA is a non-profit-making incorporated society, which is a member of the Federation of WEAs in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We promote ideals of a just, equitable and sustainable society through the medium of education.
